Red Granite Markers and statue bases in Veterans Park at Granite, Oklahoma next to the First Baptist Church on Main Street.

This red granite historical marker is located at Dixon Durant Park in Durant, Oklahoma. Dixon Durant Park is named in honor of the founder of Durant, Oklahoma. This monument marks the site of the first log cabin built by Dixon Durant's father, Fisher Durant. Circa 1832. Grandfather Pierre Durant, Fisher Durant and Dixon Durant came to this area of "Indian Territory" over the Trail of Tears Circa 1830. It is always important for us to remember our landmarks of the past and how the people that came before us impacted the places and things that we have today.

This statue of Barry Switzer is located east of the football stadium on the OU campus. There are several other statues located in the same area remembering Heisman trophy winners and past coaches. The base for this statue was created by Willis Granite Products as part of the Oklahoma Centennial projects.
