This article is from the Journal Record in Oklahoma City about Brenda Hickerson, artist at Willis Granite. Brenda is the youngest of three daughters running the family business, Willis Granite in Granite, OK. For four generations, the Willis family has been designing, cutting, carving, sandblasting and installing stone monumnents around the world. Most of the letter engraving on a granite monument is done by machine sandblasting anymore, while artistic textures and subtle tone differences are done by hand with carbide-tipped tools, by Hickerson and her sister Linda Morris.

Her countless hours spent on maintaining this auditorium, expertise in managing the sound board, and abundant care to keep it majestic were out of love, not obligation. That same love was given to a multitude of students whose lives Mrs. Koehn touched throughout her 30 years of dedicated teaching and counseling at Cordell Elementary School.
