This Historical Marker celebrates the birthplace of Jim Thorpe. Jim Thorpe is well known as an outstanding athlete, as an Olympic medalist, Major League Baseball player and Professional Football player. He was the first President of the National Football League. Jim was also voted the greatest athlete of the first half of the 20th century by the Associated Press.
